AquaLand is a water park which is based just outside of the popular tourist area of Albufeira. AquaLand has a wide variety of rides, which attract many different types of guest to the area. One of the more popular rides is known as the Banzai Boiggan. In this ride, visitors sit on a board to go down a slide which is over twenty three metres long, at such as pace that they are able to surf in the pool below! The water park also has plenty of rides and activities for small children, so they won’t be left out if you bring them along!
Another of the Algarve’s biggest water based attractions is the oceanography park, which is known as ZooMarine. ZooMarine was created to be both an educational and enjoyable day out for tourists, which it has certainly achieved. The park shows its visitors the ocean world of many of the creatures that can be found there, including Dolphins, Crocodiles and the many types of Tropical Fish. Many people also enjoy the high quality shows which are performed at the park, showcasing Dolphins, Seals and Sea Lions. There are also restaurants and shops in the park, so you will find an excuse to spend some of your holiday money!
One of the other main attractions for holiday makers in the Algarve is the Zoo. The Zoo is based just outside of Bensafrim, and is known as Lagos Zoo. Lagos Zoo is the home of over two hundred and fifty animals, from more than fifty different species, offering guests a lot of variety. As well as these animals, guests are also able to observe many different exotic birds via flight area which is more than sixty metres long in length. Younger visitors to the park are both welcomed and catered for, as they are allowed to come into close contact with many domestic farm yard animals.
